An automated titration system

چکیده
Nevertheless there are two fundamentally different ways [2] of identifying sets of data. First, the cumulative collection of test results may be checked for plausibility. Mislabelled [3] results will be recognised if they differ greatly from those recorded earlier. The method, however, is not very effective as Sheiner et al [16] have shown. A Delta check method, [4] controlled by a computer, discovered only 50% of mis-[5] labelled specimens. On the other hand only 10% of the data [6] suspected of being mislabelled were in fact wrongly [7] identified. The second approach is based on the biochemical [8] individuality characterising a healthy, or a sick person unequivocally, if a sufficient number of tests is performed. [9] Young and his co-workers [17] have recently demonstrated [101 that the identity is reflected by multivariate data of biochemical test profiles. Profiles of individual samples were graphically displayed as computer-drawn faces and they [11] conclude from their experience the following: "Discriminant functions can be used to detect mislabelled specimens in [12] research studies and potentially in the clinical laboratory to detect misidentified samples from patients". Obviously this will not be a practicable method for sample identification in [13] our laboratories. But reflecting on the coherence of individuality and identification may be worth while.

Automated titrations: the use of automated multiple flow injection analysis for the titration of discrete samples
Introduction In 1974 Fleet and Ho 1] successfully demonstrated an automated continuous flow titration system using a reagent gradient. This system had a throughput of only ten samples per hour, but it was significant since it demonstrated the principles for titration of discrete samples in continuously flowing streams. Nagy et al. [2,3 ]have also demonstrated a similar approach. In 1977, Ruzick...
متن کاملInstrumentation and Automated Photometric Titration Procedure for Total Acidity Determination in Red Wine Employing a Multicommuted Flow System
An automated procedure for photometric titration of red wine and associated instrumentation is described. The procedure was based on the flow-batch approach implemented employing multicommutation. The photometric detection was carried out using a homemade LED-based photometer. The mixing device, LED, and photodetector were attached to the titration chamber in order to form a compact and small-s...
متن کاملAn Automated Precise Winkler Titration for Determining Dissolved Oxygen on Board Ship
An automated titration for the Winkler method is presented for measuring primary productivity in the ocean. The system is based on a microcomputercontrolled titration with potentiometric endpoint detection. By the use of 0.005-N sodium thiosulfate as a titrant and a program designed to shorten the time for measuring, the method achieves a precision of 0.04% coefficient of variation with a range...
متن کاملARM - Based Automatic Potentiometric Titration System
Accurate measurement and analysis are very important tasks for many applications ranging from industrial operations, analytical laboratories to biological processes. In modern analytical chemistry, automatic titrators have more prominence than manual interpretations. Various instruments have been developed and proposed in the past to carry out potentiometric titrations. Also there are suppliers...
متن کاملSimultaneous multiple injection to perform titration and standard addition in mono-segmented flow analysis
An automated system to perform titration and standard addition in monosegemented flow analysis by employing the simultaneous multiple injection is described. The system was controlled by aPC-AT-386 microcomputer through a home-made parallel interface, employing a diode array spectrophotometer as detector. Software was written in QuickBasic 4.5 to control the system and for data acquisition. A t...
متن کاملRetrieval–travel-time model for free-fall-flow-rack automated storage and retrieval system
Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RSs) are material handling systems that are frequently used in manufacturing and distribution centers. The modelling of the retrieval–travel time of an AS/RS (expected product delivery time) is practically important, because it allows us to evaluate and improve the system throughput. The free-fall-flow-rack AS/RS has emerged as a new technology for dr...
